Museum Of Appalachia

My parents recently visited the Museum of Appalachia, located in Clinton, TN.  They enjoyed themselves quite a bit during their visit, so much so that I am planning my own visit.  They had tons of good things to say about it.  I wanted to share this organization with you because of the great work they are doing to preserve Appalachian history.  For anyone from my neck of the woods, Lexington, KY, its right on your way to Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg so make sure to stop by and say “hi” on your next visit.

The Museum of Appalachia is a living history museum of pioneer, frontier, and early artifacts of mountain life in Southern Appalachia.  Check out their website at .  They have a list of all of their events, prices, directions and about anything else you would want to know to plan your trip.

Me too!!!! I’m going to try to go soon, if I can get a break from work. I’m super excited because I got an e-mail from them today and they are going to start using this site to let people know about the museum and what fun things they have going on. Maybe they will share some stories too. Hopefully a lot of people will take the time to go and check it out. Tons of people take vacations to Gatlinburg from Lexington and the surrounding areas and the museum is right on the way there. Its such a shame to drive right by twice and never go! Maybe know people will know its there and can plan it into their trip. If you go, let me know what you thought. I hear its really tastfully done and a wonderful tribute to Appalachia.
